Hovudforfattarane Hildur Hákonardóttir, Elizabeth Johnston og Marta Kløve Juuhl har i snart seks år inspirert kvarandre – og andre - til bidrag til den tverrfaglege boka om Nord-Atlantisk kulturarv, representert ved oppstadveven.

Boka er i tre delar: oppstadvevhistoria på Island, Shetland og Noreg; ei usedvanleg innhaldsrik handbok som viser kva veven har vore brukt til og kan brukast til – eit must for dei som vil ta veven i bruk! og til slutt spennande artiklar frå førhistorisk og historisk tid.

The main authors Hildur Hákonardóttir, Elizabeth Johnston and Marta Kløve Juuhl has, for almost six years, inspired each other and others to contribute to this interdisciplinary book about the North Atlantic Cultural Heritage, represented by the Warp-Weighted Loom.  

The result is a story in three parts; the Loom History in Iceland, Shetland and Norway; an exceptional Practical Handbook which also shows the strong connection between science and good practical handicraft, and the textile findings from prehistoric and historic times.

An absolute necessity for those arranging courses in these old techniques!
