Yarn set with yarn and knitting pattern for Salhus jumpers for babies/toddlers. Size 74-98 (1-2 years).
The pattern for the Salhus stripe can be found for the first time in Emil Clausen's pattern book from around 1909. The Textile Industry Museum still knits this old pattern for Icelandic fabric which is cut and sewn into sweaters and jackets. The structure of machine-knitted fabric is difficult to achieve in hand knitting, but we can recreate the multi-coloured pattern.
Our machine-knit sweaters are too thick for the little ones, so we have specially spun a 2-thread version of museum twine in soft yarn for this. The yarn is 100% wool and not superwash treated.
Colour: green/ecru, yellow/white or blue/white.
