The wild sheep on Ytre Lygra go outside all year round to graze in the coastal heaths. The yarn in this knitting package is a collaboration between Lygra wild sheep group and the Heathland center, and is spun at Hillesvåg wool factory.
The wool of the wild sheep is two-parted with fine bottom wool and coarser top wool. The yarn is thick and robust, but still soft. Finished garments become softer after washing. the yarn is very suitable for outerwear and mittens. Wool from wild sheep is known to be relatively water resistant and very warm.
