Beautiful book that presents the story and amazing pictures of the different Norwegian folk dresses, bunad.

In this wonderful book, cultural historian Anne Kristin Moe describes why the first bunads were taken into use at the beginning of the 20th century and how they were designed. Through Laila Duran's photographs and historical images, you can see the Bunad in historic interiors and magnificent nature.

This is the history of the embroidered folklore dresses, from the time they were the village people's ceremonial dress in the 19th century until they became the 20th century's festive dress for both village and city.

The book was made in collaboration with the Norwegian Folk Museum.
