After 1945, the stopwatch entered the textile industry in Norway. With the help of time studies and a new type of business management, productivity in the factories was to increase. The textile industry was to be modernized and rationalized. Salhus Tricotagefabrik was no exception. This book examines how rationalization affected the relationship between workers and factory management. The book traces the lines back to the 1920s and follows developments up to 1967.
